Why the Census is important for Birmingham

The 2011 census is important. The amount of money that Birmingham City Council and other public bodies will receive to spend on services over the next ten years is directly influenced by how many people are counted in the city and the information the government gets on the needs of Birmingham's residents and communities.

For lost or missing forms, or for extra help and advice, you can call 0300 0201 101 or visit www.census.gov.uk.

Where forms have not been returned by next week census officials will be making door-to-door visits to collect the forms or help households fill in new ones.

It is a legal obligation that a census return is completed for every household in the country.
