City Council Meeting - Tuesday 7 September 2010

The next City Council meeting will be held at 2pm on Tuesday 7 September 2010 and the agenda has been published.

Items on the agenda include:

• the report of the Leader of the Council on the State of the City;
• a Liberal Democrat motion welcoming the Coalition Government's decision to allow local councils to sell renewable energy to the grid and calling upon the Council to urgently develop a “Green Energy Action Plan” to maximise the benefits and identify potential savings that can be delivered via the use of feed in tariffs;
• a Scrutiny report into Functional Literacy and Numeracy (pdf, 485KB); and
• a Scrutiny report on Affordable Housing (pdf, 1,741KB).

Straight after the Council meeting, the Council will meet as Trustee to consider a report recommending the tranfer of the Trusteeship of Lightwoods Park to Sandwell Council. Although Birmingham City Council is currently the Trustee for Lightwoods Park, it is located just across the border in Sandwell and used by residents of Sandwell as well as Birmingham.
