Birmingham Half Marathon - Sunday 11 October 2009

The 2009 Birmingham Half Marathon (being held on Sunday 11 October) has now been officially launched and further information can be found at www.birminghamhalfmarathon.com

The route of this years half marathon will come down Pershore Road from the city centre, loop through Bournville and return to the Pershore Road via Raddlebarn Road, Bournbrook Road and Oakfield Road.

The consequence is that the ability of many residents in Selly Park and the Selly Park side of Selly Oak to drive to and from their homes will be limited between roughly 8am and 2pm that day. Council officers have been attending meetings of residents associations, and talking to the emergency services and large employers etc, to try and resolve as many problems as possible. Some diversions will also obviously need to be in place on neighbouring roads. Local residents should receive hand-delivered letters about the event and the restrictions nearer the time.
